Part of a series of Shipping Challenge Prompts for @robotnik-mun, this time depicting Bunnie and Antoine in the iconic "kabedon" pose; I hadn't originally planned for Bunnie's extendable robo-limbs to play into the scene, but once I realized it made aligning the poses as needed a lot easier, I decided to really lean into the curve and I had a lot of fun with it.

I really wish Underground had just used Scratch and Grounder. Not only would it make more sense for robots to shapeshift into vehicles and such, but I desperately want to know how those guys would have looked if they were tweaked to fit into the grungier, punk-like aesthetic of that show!

I can't help but think about this fan art by Grillhou5e. Obviously this doesn't fit Underground's style perfectly, but I'm imagining something roughly along these lines. lol

You know, with the reveal that Scratch and Grounder were originally slated to be on Sonic Underground before Sleet and Dingo took the slot, something occurs to me.

Suddenly makes a bit more sense. Dingo being able to shapeshift when Sleet pulled a remote on him always seemed like an incredibly random and weird concept, one that never got any explanation or hint as to why this was within the show itself. It’s an incredibly oddball power to have, especially when DIngo as far as we know is a Mobian.

But when you consider that Scratch and Grounder were originally going to take their place?

It makes a lot more sense- Scratch being able to transform Grounder into various vehicles and tools against his will via remote control is EXACTLY the sort of dynamic they’d have, and exactly the sort of power Grounder would have. Why it was retained for Sleet and Dingo given how weird it looks with them, I can only imagine. I guess they really liked the concept and didn’t care that while it’d make sense for a pair of robots, it just looked weird for a pair of organics.

Either way, that’s ONE Sonic Mystery solved, kinda.

The last of my series of Shipping Challenge Prompts for @robotnik-mun, with Alphys and Undyne from "Undertale" doing an outfit swap; I had, just, a ton of fun with this one, especially once I hit on the idea of putting Alphys, not in Undyne's civlian clothes, but rather her ominous armor.

One thing Sonic Prime got 5000% right is the variety of camera angles of beating ass and the witty quips while beating ass. And…I just NEED more, my god…

See, for me, this is actually pretty easy.  Most of the games I love most either have had at least one Movie Adaptation made already, or else seem increasingly likely to get one in my lifetime...with one exception.  If I could have my wish, and make The Biggest Best Possible Movie Version of one Video Game?  I know exactly which one I’d choose.

SPOILERS FOR SONIC X SHADOW LORE AHEAD

So are we ready to talk about the fact Maria and Gerald got to see what their Shadow would grow up into and that's why Gerald would record that video (in the first Shadow game) to prevent Shadow from joining the Black Arms? He probably realized something bad was going to happen after Generations, since Shadow was the only one who aged (in character), and made that move + I bet Maria wanted to send him a message after all that because their Shadow had no idea what would've just occurred. Pre-Generations Gerald would still see Shadow as a cure and weapon but Post-Generations Gerald would want his son to have free will. This also explains why Pre-Generations Shadow's memories are all fucked up- at some point on his end Gerald has a sudden character arc that makes him a dad figure, only for Maria's death to rip that away from him. That's super confusing and traumatizing when you think about it.

Rewatched Dark Beginnings and I just realized in Shadow's nightmare when the image of Maria appears in the clouds with her screaming Shadow's name. The image of her shatters and the most damaged part of her, where the cracks are more closer and broken?? Is the left side of her chest.

Maria Robotnik was shot through the heart right in front of Shadow.

The GUN agent who shot her had made sure that she would not survive.

I’m really curious to see how Knux, Tails and Amy (maybe even Sage??) are gonna be playable in the third DLC update.

If they’ll only be playable in that new story bit or if we’re actually be able to play as them on their respective islands.

If it’s the latter, you better believe I’m not going to take a step off Ares Island ever again.

Everything is falling apart.  Every wall, every sky, every moment.  All things, time and space alike, are becoming broken within the great void that is only growing greater and stronger the more it pulls into itself.

And at its center, locked in combat, are two figures built in contrast.  One small, the other large; one garbed in armor of glistening white, the other in mail of pitch black; one a Knight, the other a mere Child. Yet there was one link between them, a crimson light that burns in their eyes, and bursts out from the glistening Soul which floats above them, the one thing which pierced the storm of the void entirely.

“I know you can see it, but sight tells us so little!” The Knight bellows.  “Can you hear it, O Vessel?” His question comes in a mocking tone as he brings his hardened fist down upon the child’s chest.  “The sound of the glorious fire burning away all things at long last?”

The child’s only answer is to bounce back from the blow and slam their head right into the Knight’s, hard enough that the armor rings like an anvil struck by a hammer.  “Yes, you can, can’t you?” the Knight retorts. “Or else you would not fight this fiercely.”

He grapples with the child, trying to pin their arms.  “Fiercely, but in vain.  This is not a battle to be won, O Vessel; this is not a scheme to be thwarted.”  He takes the left arm in hand.  “We are past that now.”  He takes the right arm.  “This is Truth, written in stone.  Immutable.”

The child’s legs swing out and kick into the Knight’s plated sternum, forcing the Knight to release his grip and sending both combatants swirling along the spinning center of the void. The Soul crackles just a bit brighter. “Thrash about all you wish!” the Knight cackles as he balances himself.  “It cannot be changed!  The Fate to which we have both been bound from the moment our eyes first opened will be fulfilled!”

He leans forward, ready to lunge, but the child strikes first, a living shadow striking like a bolt of lighting.  They strike again at the head, one hand grabbing onto the horn of the Knight’s helmet, and the other slamming into its faceplate.  “Shut.  UP!” the child speaks at last with a piercing voice.  Again they strike the faceplate.  “SHUT UP!”  Again. “SHUT UP!”  Again.  “SHUT UUUUUUUUP!!!”

One last blow, and the plate dents, the helmet twists, and the head turns with it.  “I don’t care!” the child spits out, using the horn to swing away from the Knight’s swiping hand.  “I don’t care if it’s too late!  I don’t care if you say it can’t be changed!”  Their swing spins them back around, this time feet-first, right into the Knight’s neck.  “Noelle’s out there, Susie’s out there, my family is out there!”

The Soul’s light grows brighter still.

“So I’ll fight!”  A punch to the side of the head.  “I’ll keep fighting!”  A kick to the chin.  “I’ll keep fighting like they can still be saved!”

The Knight pushes them back, lifting their hand to try and knock them away.  And the child too readies another blow.  “BECAUSE THAT IS THE ONLY THING THAT MATTERS!”

And this time the Knight cannot stop a small tremble passing through his body.  Because now he is the one who hears.  He knows what that voice sounds like.

Not just a shout. A roar.

to be fair i don’t think it was ever considered acceptable so much as Someone Was Willing To Publish It, which are two relatively distinct concepts.

That said, yeah, no, anyone who wants to rip into Stanley for being “off-model” (an idea that, much like “Filler”, has escaped the containment of its original meaning and become just utterly useless from abuse) does not need to be taken seriously. 

every week on sonic twitter someone has to make a thread being like "uhhhh hot take why don't the idw artists draw sonic's face CORRECTLY, like THIS??? clearly they don't understand the character like i do" and the reference material they provide for "on-model" sonic is pre-sonic 1 concept art by naoto ohshima that does not apply to how any artist at sega has ever drawn modern sonic's face. we will be having these arguments until the sun burns out

""Fanart"" based on a picture I saw on @robotnik-mun's account, A terrifyingly beautiful concept art of Tommy Turtle where he looks like an elderly underfed Dragonball Z alien. Where did this even come from? A book? I can't find it online.

I have a weird admission to make. I’ve had a low key obsession with this character for a couple of months now. Mostly because I didn’t finish reading Archie until years after it ended. The pre-boot anyway. (Probably won’t ever finish reboot…) But years upon years ago I remember reading on forums how much people hated Tommy but I didn’t understand why. I was like “who the heck is this guy to be hated so much?” I read the comic and was like “okay he is kinda….very boring. But he doesn’t take up that much space.” Then I read Archie Sonic review blogs and it made more sense. I flew by Tommy Turtle but in the past readers suffered with him slowly. Because of this, I obsessed a bit on how to make him better. I’ve daydreamed about working on Sonic projects and this character has made me think about how to not introduce your OC into the franchise.

First of all if not most important….Tommy isn’t a cute girl Sonic OC so he was doomed by about 50% just from that. Second of all, his design in the comic was bad. Archie really really really struggled with Sonic’s design philosophy and just made a lot of furries. Tommy looks like he belonged on a Nick Jr cartoon.

Then I actually watched an episode of Franklin and I take it back. Franklin looks more like a Sonic character than Tommy does. All this to say I think some of the hatred MIGHT have been curved if Tommy looked more sonic-y and not like a generic American cartoon turtle. I tried, not saying my design is the best, but a quick google search got me 1 singular redesign so I decided to try as well.

I have mulled over how to actually rewrite Tommy but I’m no writer. I’ll probably draw him some more though.
